Organic Traffic Will Go 👇🏼
Conversion Rates Will Go 👆🏼
1st MONDAY OF 2020 MARKETING INSIGHT:
I can almost guarantee that overall organic traffic is going down this year. This will likely happen to blogs and business/brand websites that provide any type of valuable info to a question you type on Google.
Why is organic going down in 2020?
💻 People get answers in the Meta Descriptions of SERP’s (Search Engine Results Pages) and don’t feel the need to click through.
💻 Google provides additional auto-questions with quick answers coming from “rich snippets” of websites.
Why you should NOT freak out about it:
✅ Google will keep positioning your website high in rankings if it’s providing valuable info. In other words, you won’t lose rankings over this.
âś… People that want to learn more than just the quick fix answer will still visit your site.
âś… Those that do click through to your page will have an even higher intent meaning they will be more likely to convert.
Hit me with any questions or further insights on this!

What’s up guys Seb here and Santa Monica heading out of the office on the first Monday of 2020. And I went to address a major concern that a lot of my SEO clients have coming up here in 2020. There is a truth. Traffic is going down in 2020. And let me explain the reason to why that is happening. The reason is that a lot of the answers that you’re looking for on Google are being displayed in rich snippets, or just simply in the meta descriptions of search engine results pages. So when you Google something, if you see the answer on, in the results page, there’s no need for you to click through and we’ll go to the website. So that’s kind of decrease traffic overall, but it’s nothing you should be majorly worried about or be like, what’s the point of doing this when I’m not going to get the traffic? The one positive thing that’s going to come out of this is that the traffic that you do get has a much higher intent and higher intent means higher conversion rates. That means that you still need to be doing everything possible to be coming up as much as possible on those search engine results pages. Because the traffic that you do get will have higher intent and have higher conversions, happy to further discuss this with all of you. We had a great first Monday of the year until next time. Peace.
