NO 💻 TRAFFIC = NO SALES

But just having traffic does not necessarily produce sales either.

If you’re an owner or manager (even if you don’t carry out digital marketing tactics yourself) it’s good to at least understand your general sources of online traffic so that you can have a more strategic approach to increasing traffic and sales.

In this video I discuss:

✔️ Organic
✔️ Direct
✔️ Referral
✔️ Social
✔️ Email

Each source has various approaches that can help increase web visits. Understanding the basics will help you start steering in the right direction to start planning the right strategy.

Hey, yo, what’s up guys Seb here in Santa Monica, I’m going to talk to you guys about the different types of that digital traffic that your website can get. And it’s important that even if you’re not super involved with it, that you understand the basics of them, um, because the more you understand about it, the more you can do on the outside, um, with your teams to improve those, uh, all of those traffic sources, as you know, the most important one is going to be your organic traffic source. And that’s going to be when people search on Google and your website organically comes up, it could be your home page or any other type of page on your website and people click on it. And that’s going to be considered an organic traffic, the most important because it converts the highest. So you get the most out of organic traffic pretty much always.

Um, after that, you’re going to get various other types and you’re going to get direct referral, social email, most likely there’s going to be maybe in that order. Um, direct is when somebody types in your web address directly on the URL bar, which you may be saying, there’s no way that many people are typing my web address on their URL bar. Um, and what’s happening though, is because of the way that Google auto-fills searches. Now they may be actually, you’d be searching for your business, but if they’ve been to it before, most likely Google is going to auto fill that search, and it’s going to take them straight to your website. And it’s now tracking as a direct, um, traffic source, as opposed to organic, which is how you would think it would be tracking it. So a lot of the direct traffic today can kind of be like a little bit mixed up with that organic traffic.

Then you’ve got referral, which comes in from other referral sources, which is other websites that are linking back to your website. A awesome way to get traffic also helps increase organic. And if you’ve got a strong, um, outreach, uh, backlink outreach, um, strategy, it’s, you’re going to help increase all that referral traffic, which helps increase your other types of organic and direct traffic too. Um, and you’ve also got email depending on how big your email list is and how many emails you’re sending you, gonna be getting, uh, traffic from your email. And of course, social media, you’ve got your paid social and organic social. Um, most of the social media traffic nowadays is probably going to be paid social. And then you’ve got other types like, uh, paid search AdWords, display ads and things like that. But anyway, there’s all types of strategies into helping increase all those various sources of traffic hit me up. If you have any questions or want to know anything about them, um, I’m happy to answer it with you. So I’ll talk to you soon until next time.
